Reduce the file size of a JPG photo
JPG is especially well suited to photos, but a file from a phone or camera can be much larger than necessary for a website, email or sharing. PourQui recompresses the photo directly on your device and also lets you reduce its dimensions by percentage.

Resizing can greatly reduce file size
At 100%, the photo keeps its original dimensions. The 90%, 75%, 50% and 25% options reduce width and height by the same proportion. A very large phone photo can therefore become much lighter if it is intended for on-screen display or sending in a message.
Why optimize a JPG image?
A JPG that is too large can slow down a web page, take longer to send by email, or use unnecessary storage space. Optimization reduces file size while preserving visual quality suitable for the intended use.

Should you reduce quality or dimensions?
The two methods do not have exactly the same effect. Lowering JPEG quality mainly changes file compression, while reducing dimensions lowers the number of pixels in the image. For a photo that will be displayed small on a screen, resizing can provide substantial savings. If the dimensions must be preserved, it is better to adjust compression only.

Can a JPG be compressed with no quality loss at all?
A new JPG compression always changes the image slightly. Maximum quality mode limits this loss, while the before / after comparison lets you visually check the result.
Which mode should I choose?
Balanced mode is applied automatically when the image is added. Switch to Maximum quality if preserving detail is the priority, or to Smaller file if you want to reduce the file size further.
Why can a photo become larger?
If the original file was already highly optimized, recompressing it at high quality may produce a similar or larger file. The tool tells you so you can keep the original.
