Reduce PNG file size without making things complicated
A PNG file can become large, especially when it has big dimensions, many colors or wide transparent margins. This tool lets you combine several optimizations without installing any software. You stay in control: keep the original size, reduce dimensions by percentage, trim unnecessary transparent areas and choose the compression level that suits your image.
Maximum quality
The PNG remains lossless. This is the safest choice for preserving visual data while still trying to reduce file size.
Balanced
The number of color shades is reduced moderately. This mode can make the image lighter while remaining visually close to the original.
Smaller file
The PNG uses a limited color palette. This mode is especially useful for illustrations, icons, logos and images with transparency.
What is percentage resizing for?
At 100%, the dimensions are preserved. The 90%, 75%, 50% and 25% options reduce width and height by the same proportion. This can greatly reduce the file size of a large image when it does not need to be displayed at its original resolution. The tool never enlarges your file: 100% always means its current size after any transparent-margin trimming.
Why optimize a PNG image?
A PNG can be particularly large when it contains many colors, large dimensions or wide transparent areas. Optimization reduces file size to make the image easier to display on a website, send or store, while preserving transparency when the image uses it.

Images with few colors and transparency can often be made much smaller by using a more limited palette.

Lossless PNG or reduced palette: what is the difference?
