Reduce an image to a specific file size, simply.
Choose the maximum file size you want and add your images. PourQui automatically adjusts compression and, if necessary, the dimensions to stay below the selected limit.
Each image will be reduced to stay below this limit.
The original format is preserved. For JPG and WebP, PourQui adjusts quality first, then reduces the dimensions if necessary. For PNG, the dimensions are reduced only if the file exceeds the limit.
Reduce an image below a specific file size
Choose the limit
Sélectionnez 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB ou saisissez votre propre taille maximale.
Add your images
You can use JPG, PNG or WebP files. Multiple images can be processed one after another.
Download the result
PourQui automatically finds the best balance to stay below the requested size and shows you the result before downloading.
How is the image reduced?
For JPG and WebP photos, the tool first tries to reduce file size by adjusting quality without changing the dimensions. If that is not enough, it gradually reduces the width and height. For PNG, the format and transparency are preserved: if the file is still too large, its dimensions are gradually reduced.
When should you reduce an image to a specific file size?
For an online form
When a website imposes a maximum file size for a photo or document, simply enter that limit before processing the image.
To send an image
Reducing a photo below a specific size can make it easier to send by email or messaging service when an attachment limit applies.
For multiple images
You can apply the same limit to multiple files so that all images stay within the requested maximum size.
Reduce file size without unnecessarily changing the image
If the file already meets the selected limit, the original is kept. For a JPG or WebP that is too large, quality is adjusted first before reducing the dimensions. For PNG, the tool preserves the format and transparency, then reduces the dimensions only when necessary to reach the maximum size.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to PourQui.com?
No. Reading, compression and resizing are performed directly in your browser. Your images are not uploaded to PourQui’s server.
L’image fera-t-elle exactement 500 KB si je choisis 500 KB ?
Non.
What happens if my image is already small enough?
The original is kept. It is not unnecessarily recompressed if its file size is already below or equal to the requested limit.
Why can the dimensions become smaller?
When compression alone is not enough to reach the requested size, slightly reducing the dimensions can lower the file size further while avoiding excessive visible compression.
Does a transparent PNG stay transparent?
Yes. A PNG remains in PNG format and keeps its transparency. The tool does not silently convert it to JPG.
