When does the tool work best ?
Automatic background removal works best when the subject is sharp and clearly different from the background. Hair, very thin objects, transparent areas, or backgrounds close to the subject’s colors can be harder to separate perfectly.
When should you remove an image background?
Removing the background lets you isolate a subject to place it on another background, create a visual with transparency, or prepare an image for a presentation, product sheet, document, or composition. The transparent PNG can then be easily reused in other tools.

How can you improve automatic background removal?
The result is usually better when the subject is sharp, well lit and sufficiently different from the background. If parts of the background remain visible, move the slider toward “Remove more”. If parts of the subject disappear, move it back toward “Remove less” to preserve more detail.
Why is the result downloaded as PNG?
PNG preserves the transparency created after background removal. JPG cannot store transparent areas: they would be replaced by a background color. PNG is therefore the right format for reusing the cut-out image on another background.
