Scan a document from a photo
Add a photo of a document: the tool detects its edges, corrects perspective and lets you improve readability before downloading.
Le mode « Color » corrige l’éclairage de la feuille, blanchit le papier et renforce légèrement les détails pour une meilleure lisibilité. Le mode « Noir & blanc » privilégie la lisibilité maximale.
Turn a photo into a readable document
A photo taken at an angle can make a document hard to read. The tool automatically finds its edges, flattens the page and corrects perspective. You can then choose between color or black and white.
Photograph the document
Try to include all four edges of the document in the photo.
The document is straightened
PourQui detects the corners and then automatically applies perspective correction.
Improve and download
Choose the most readable rendering, then download the document as JPG or PNG.
Tips for better detection
For better results, leave some space around the page, avoid strong reflections, and if possible photograph the document against a background that contrasts with the paper.
When is scanning a document from a photo useful?
This type of scan is useful when you do not have a scanner available. It lets you flatten a photo of a letter, invoice, supporting document, form, note or printed document before saving it in a cleaner and more readable form.
Letter or administrative document
A photo taken with a phone can be straightened to produce a page that is easier to read, keep or share.
Invoice or supporting document
Perspective correction can flatten the page even when the photo was not taken perfectly straight on.
Notes or printed pages
Black and white mode can improve readability when most of the document consists of text.
Color ou noir et blanc : quel rendu choisir ?
Color mode is suitable when the document contains colored elements, stamps, signatures or illustrations that you want to preserve. Black and white mode is especially useful for text-heavy documents because it increases the contrast between the paper and the characters.
Scan a document photo or simply crop it?
Simple cropping removes unnecessary areas around the page, but it does not correct a photo taken at an angle. The document scanner detects the edges and corrects perspective to flatten the page before improving readability.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. Straightening and filters are applied in your browser.
What is the difference between color and black & white mode?
Color mode preserves the document colors while correcting lighting and the background. Black & white mode uses stronger contrast to make the text as readable as possible.
Can the document be detected if it is heavily tilted?
Yes, in many cases. If standard detection fails, the tool automatically tries Scanic’s ML detector.
